A Stunning Spring-Inspired Wedding at Pippin Hill
As the Virginia sun warmed the air and radiated over Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards in North Garden, Jennifer and Thomas eagerly awaited saying “I do.” The couple kept their outdoor ceremony set-up simple, allowing for the arbor and flow of seasonal florals to accentuate an already breathtaking view. To all in attendance, the beauty was simply an extension of the love between them.
A white and greenery-focused color palette with flecks of blue kept the look airy and joyful like the sky above. This combination helped their classic, yet modern wedding embrace the bounty of the season. White blooms in a variety of sizes paired with fresh greenery were visible in every direction, all interspersed with periwinkle blue blossoms to give the perfect touch of something blue.
The blue was carried over into the small details, such as the stationery, the sash around Jennifer’s bouquet, the table linens at cocktail hour and in the bridesmaids’ dresses. While dresses were the same color, each bridesmaid was able to choose her own style and neckline, adding a touch of individuality and personality to the bridal party.
Thomas and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, allowing Jennifer’s stunning wedding dress to shine. The lace, trumpet skirt with petal appliqués and thin organza straps created an ethereal look that was both timeless yet very modern.
Among these small details were the wedding invitations, which created a cohesive look between the more rustic, vintage elements of the setting and the modern additions. Inside a blue envelope, the wedding invitations featured a lovely watercolor scene of Pippin Hill with greenery and flowers resembling the bridal party’s bouquets, commemorating a stunning day full of natural beauty, personal touches and love.
For the reception, the Granary was decorated with more of the elegant flowers used throughout the ceremony. Greenery ran the length of the head table, decorated the chandelier and were added to the dessert table, bringing the natural beauty of the day indoors for the celebration. String lights hung from the ceiling, emulating a night-time rendition of the subtle, soft glow of stars in the sky.
Throughout the night, guests selected sweet treats from the personalized dessert bar that featured a variety of the couple’s favorites. Along with the dessert bar, Jennifer and Thomas served a UVA-themed cake to share a personal part of their love story.
To remember the evening, the newlyweds set out a table with two Polaroid cameras and film, allowing guests to leave photographs of themselves for Jennifer and Thomas to remember the night. Guests were also treated to two specialty cocktails for the evening—a bourbon drink from him and a pomegranate drink from her.
At the end of the night, Jennifer and Thomas were sent off through a tunnel of sparklers by their loved ones, leaving in a trail of glitter and well wishes. Waving from a vintage car adorned with even more flowers, the couple finally made an exit and put an end to the celebration, taking the next step in their lives as a married couple. ~
