Beautiful Bramblewood Estate set the scene for this whimsical garden-themed styled wedding. The colors of nature were the inspiration for the talented wedding planner and her team of artisans in Virginia Wine Country. With a flower-filled vision, they created a summer wedding with butterfly decor accents, beautiful wedding flowers, a stunning cake tower with botanical details and a beautiful table with pink linens that suited this green wedding perfectly.

A Garden Wedding in Green

The bride’s full-skirted tulle gown fit the fairytale theme perfectly. The tulle worked beautifully with a romantic sweetheart neckline and a full length train on the wedding gown that is beautiful coming down the aisle. The bride’s wedding veil has delicate floral applique that further enhances the botanical theme of this garden wedding. You can easily image that a floral headpiece or a comb with flowers would look perfect in her hair later at the botanical wedding reception too.

A Butterfly Garden Wedding at Bramblewood Estate

Structural green foliage laced through muted pink and purple shades in the floral arrangements to create a dreamy gardenscape. The arching lantern holders are covered in flowing loose greenery inviting butterflies perhaps to flit by. Supporting striking basket lanterns, the organic elements tie together seamlessly with their surroundings while casting a romantic light on the table for guests at the wedding reception. This also illustrates a beautiful way to call attention to Virginia’s famed Blue Ridge Mountains and frame the view for wedding guests.

To showcase the current trend of brides wearing different gowns for different stages of the wedding, they exchanged the flowing ceremony gown and lace veil for a summery off-the-shoulder mini dress with puffed sleeves.

The wedding caterers even created an unexpected edible custom cocktail topping of emerald-hued butterflies floating on cocktail foam. A second custom cocktail for wedding guests at this garden celebration borrowed the purple shades from the bridal bouquet, featuring a rim dipped in dried edible flower petals for the perfect celebratory spring drink. Cheers to the newlyweds!

The stationary in hues of green invite wedding guests to celebrate in nature. Artist-drawn butterflies, dragonflies, flowers and beetles highlighted the love for the natural world that the engaged couple share and hinted to guests the beauty they could anticipate at this lovely butterfly garden wedding. The stationary suite included lined envelopes with a floral pattern, customized wedding coasters and coordinating seating place cards all in green with swallowtails, monarchs, fritillaries and more flitting over the stationary created especially for this butterfly theme wedding.

At the wedding reception, the towering traditional white cake with 4 beautiful tiers was a highlight. The wedding cake was wrapped in white fondant and embellished with delicate botanical decor by a talented wedding cake baker. Perfectly set on a green cake plate and topped with fresh roses and poppies in peach, lavender, white and greens, guests were eager to both admire its beauty and to taste.

Designing a Garden Wedding

Rich pink and lilac floral arrangements and lush climbing vines accented the rattan pendant lamps, wooden chairs and lilac tablecloth for the reception of this botanical wedding at Bramblewood Estate in Virginia Wine Country. The table had a variety of garden roses in the palette, local blush & lavender lisianthus, local dahlias, local Russian Sage, purple clematis, butterfly bush, limelight hydrangea.

Butterfly accents fluttered through all aspects of the design, from the creative stationery featuring watercolor envelopes and dragonfly cutouts to a cloud of pale paper butterflies streaming up a verdant accent wall.

The bouquet had purple clematis, lavender lisianthus, butterfly bush, zinnias and garden roses. The ceremony had limelight and Angel’s blush hydrangea, Russian Sage, Crepe myrtle. Lavender plants, butterfly bush plants, and fern plants.

Botanical Décor for a Garden Inspired Wedding Reception

Butterfly-shaped place cards and botanical Indienne block print napkins with gleaming siilver bee napkin rings added whimsical garden touches to the tables place settings.

A vintage mint green convertible made the perfect getaway vehicle as the couple sped off down the pebbled drive and into their new lives together.
