A Fairytale Wedding at CrossKeys Vineyards in Virginia
After nine years together, Sy-yu and Anthony tied the knot at CrossKeys Vineyards in a golden wedding straight out of a fairytale. The couple’s personalities shined through every detail, from the Harry Potter-inspired cards to the bubble tea favors given out at the reception. From start to finish, Sy-yu and Anthony’s unique wedding was nothing short of stunning.
In the morning, Sy-yu got ready with the help of her bridesmaids and mother. As a memory of her wedding day and a thank you present, Sy-yu gifted each bridesmaid with a floral silk robe and a champagne flute engraved with her name, which the women got immediate use out of while getting ready. Sy-yu and her bridesmaids were pampered by Glam Bridal Beauty throughout the morning, and by the end, each woman’s natural beauty was emphasized with simple makeup and hairstyles of loose, face-framing curls.
While sticking to a palette of blush and gold, each bridesmaid chose her own dress. Dresses ranged from simple, strapless blush to full gold sequins and everything in between. While each bridesmaid chose a complementary style for herself, together, the bridesmaids created a shimmering, warm blush that brightened the entire day and reflected the romantic gold tones of the entire wedding.
The groomsmen wore light gray suits, pairing perfectly with the soft tones of the bridesmaids’ gowns without diminishing their unique beauty. To set him apart from the groomsmen and to elevate his attire to that of his bride, Anthony wore a classic deep blue suit, looking incredible alongside Sy-yu’s stunning elegance.
Sy-yu’s fitted Sophia Tolli dress with a fit and flare silhouette had her groom falling in love all over again. With a V-neckline and V-back, the bodice flared into a stunning chapel-style train, which added drama and followed behind her beautifully. From the lace bodice to the train edged in the same lace, her gown exuded a seamless bond between style and movement.
If the front of the gown wasn’t enough of a wow-factor, the back of the dress came together in a merging of mesh and buttons, taking the dress to new heights. The intricate detail in each part of Sy-yu’s show-stopping gown added to the fairytale-like quality of the couple’s wedding, and made her a beautiful and eye-catching bride.
In keeping with the gorgeous tones of the bridal party’s attire, the wedding was decorated with spray, garden and sweetheart roses in white, cream, blush and fuchsia tones from Flowers by Rose, adding an ethereal charm to both the ceremony and reception. The golden-pink tones of the flowers stayed consistent throughout the day, with the ceremony arbor being the one exception. For the ceremony, the golden tones were broken up with a scattering of small, hot pink flowers, adding depth while simultaneously brightening the floral arrangement.
The color palette carried over into reception and created a romantic glow. Gold plates and chairs set the tone, while pale pink napkins added a hint of color and reflected the warm ethereality of the flowers.
For a personal touch and a loving addition to their wedding reception, Sy-yu and Anthony had a table of beautifully made desserts contributed by their friend Mira. On top of the homemade desserts, the couple had a simple, white cake from Sweethaus, proclaiming Sy-yu’s last name change from “Chen to Shen.”
If the desserts and cake weren’t enough, Sy-yu and Anthony also had bubble tea, a favorite of theirs, provided by Kung Fu Tea at the reception.
After dinner, a DJ from King Studio took the stage, and guests continued their celebration with dancing. Lights strung over the dance floor added to the dreamlike feel of the wedding and enticed guests to dance beneath them.
At the end of the celebration, guests sent Sy-yu and Anthony off with a display of sparklers. The joy and emotion on their faces as a, now, married couple after nine years together perfectly captures the pure love and excitement felt by all throughout the day.
