Vineyard Love Styled Wedding Shoot
Be inspired by this gorgeous Styled Shoot featured in Volume 6 of Wine & Country Weddings. Weddings in Virginia wine country are the epitome of luxury. Guests can meander vineyard properties, taste award-winning vintages and embrace the beauty of the scenery while celebrating love. This romantic hillside wedding at Delaplane Cellars, as imagined and styled by Vida Events, takes the experience one step farther by its incorporation of wine-inspired touches.
Statement décor pieces like this vintage riddling board, a collection of wicker-wrapped demijohns and an antique bottle-opener evoke musings of old-world European elegance. The rich color palette the couple curated traded something blue for something blush. The warm wood of the oak barrels, the green of the vines and the sparkle of the grapes was the perfect blend and showcased the terroir of the property similarly to that of a fine wine. Virginia Wine Country offers the perfect locations for attaining a similar look, one that can be especially amplified at vineyards like CrossKeys’ or Barboursville that also offer impeccable cuisine to accentuate your big day or even a private, corporate event.
The same wood and ivory tones were repeated in the understated elegance of the letterpress invitations.
We particularly like that the invitation suite includes a wine tasting sheet, offered to guests during the cocktail hour or reception so they could make note of the wines and suggested pairings. This is an excellent aficionado touch! The coaster favors as well as the cork styling on the vow booklets are other delightful nods to the importance of wine in this soirée.
The bride’s bouquet by Crafted Stems, exquisitely crafted from an abundant assortment of blooms, features anemones, dahlias, garden roses, scabiosa pods, white mountain ferns and greens.
As a lovely counterpoint to this opulence, a length or two of green vines were artfully entwined atop a slip of chiffon on the rustic sweetheart table, allowing the beauty of both the surroundings and the bride to truly shine.
Rustic charm does not preclude the need for a bit of sparkle, though. Bejeweled touches are visible in the bride’s shoes, hair comb and the glittering crystal on the table. The bride’s off-the-shoulder ball gown features bold leaf and bloom appliques which add a touch of fairy-tale elegance to the vineyard setting.
A touch of jaunty flirtation is brought into the scene with the addition of a leather motorcycle jacket worn by the bride to ward off even the hint of an evening chill.
The rust-toned, single-breasted, three-piece-suit with peak-lapels on the groom is a bold and debonair look that we love!
Incorporating farm-to-table style goes beyond simply sourcing local food. It is also achievable through the display. Delight your guests with an artfully curated charcuterie of seasonal fruit served on a board crafted from wine barrel staves like those shown here by Bluewater Kitchen. Reclaimed pieces like this are equally lovely and practical for both displaying or serving hors d’oeuvres.
The pièce de résistance of any wedding is always the cake. Here, you see the top of this two-tiered cake with beautifully piped buttercream blooms to match those on the riddling board.
The beauty of a vineyard wedding in Virginia wine country is that it truly is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to immerse yourself and your guests in some of the area’s most breathtaking views. What better place to start your marriage than at a place where the union formed between you and nature matches the union of two hearts. ~
